An open innovation platform for solving environmental challenges
Lahti, November 20, 2013. In November, Veolia Environnement, the world leader in the environmental services and Lahti Region Development LADEC Ltd will launch the Nordic Innovation Accelerator in Finland. Thisnew, open innovation platform will offer the clean technology companies an opportunity to showcase their innovations on an international forum.
The model is based on the Veolia Innovation Accelerator program, a major initiative designed and developed by Veolia Environnement, to support green growth around the world by promoting the development and deployment of leading clean technologies in partnership with entrepreneurs. the Nordic Innovation Accelerator, hosted by LADEC, targets cleantech companies of various sizes with different maturity levels operating in Finland and other Nordic countries with the ambition to speed up their growth through networking and cooperation.
"Companies need help in order to perform to the best of their abilities on international markets. Open innovation has become a vital way of boosting the innovation process of environmental technology companies and creating successful business through interaction," says Dr. Nicolas Marechal-Abram, Open Innovation, Innovation Management Department at Veolia Environnement Recherche et Innovation.
"We see the cooperation with Veolia as an important step towards encouraging Finnish industrial companies to work in closer cooperation with small and new Cleantech companies. The support provided by Veolia’s experts and the company’s piloting facilities provide an efficient way of verifying new technology and a fast track to the international markets," says Nina Harjula, Head of Development, Cleantech at LADEC.
The pilot program will be launched on 20th of November 2013 at the Corporate Cleantech Venture Day organized by LADEC. In the near future the goal is to open the platformto other corporate entities.
